Wednesday Wisdom for Parents

Week of August 23, 2020

Topic: Love

Message: As a parent, it’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life which may cause you to forget the little things. When was the last time you told your child “I love you”?

Week of August 31, 2020

Topic: Invest Time With Your Child

Message: Time is valuable and it waits for no one. Each day drifts by with seconds, minutes, and hours ticking away on the clock. Before we know it the day has gotten away from us! This is why it is so important to dedicate carved out time for your child and/or children. With this said, don’t wake up and your child has grown up behind your back and not before your eyes. Set dates for family outings, share stories, play cards, have game night, set up friendly competition, etc...

Week of September 6, 2020

Topic: A Present Parent

Message: The presence of a parent can make or break a child. As parents, we must be an advocate, champion, listening ear, and number one supporter for our children. There’s a difference of being in the same house but not spending any bonding time. You have now entered the zone of an absent parent mentally and socially. Go beyond your physical presence and be there for your child! Be the hope they need in this dark world!

Week of September 13, 2020

Topic: Spending Time with your child

Message: It’s imperative to spend time with your child on a daily basis. There is a quote that I love, it states: Time spent with a child is never time wasted!” Find something that they like to do and enjoy the fun alongside your child. This helps boost their social skills, their self-esteem, and self-confidence!

Week of September 20, 2020

Topic: pray with your child

Message: It is the duty of parents to help support, maintain and encourage their child to grow spiritually! Train up a child in the way they should go. Prayer is the main element that will help your to build a relationship with God! Your child must understand they cannot do anything without God’s help, guidance, and provision.

Week of September 27, 2020

Topic: Read the Bible with your child

Message: Reading the Bible with your child is a way to grow closer with your child and give the both of you talking points for life. Your child must understand the Bible is their life compass. Whenever they need to know how to handle a situation, they must understand that God has provided the answer in his word. Also, reading the Bible sharpens  their reading and comprehension skills.

Week of October 5, 2020

Topic: Set Parameters

Message: Children should understand in life there are boundaries. In life you can only go so far before trouble will arise. If you begin to set parameters early in your child’s life they will understand the notion of not taking things to far. This life lesson will help them in school, with their peers, and eventually when they begin to date.
